Car washes in the United States come in four main formats: the express tunnel, where you stay in the car while a conveyor pulls it through brushes or high-pressure jets; the full-service wash, where attendants vacuum and wipe down the interior after the tunnel; the self-service bay with a coin or card-operated pressure wand, foam brush and vacuums; and the hand wash, where a crew washes and dries the car by hand. Touchless tunnels skip the cloth brushes entirely and rely on chemicals and water pressure, which is gentler on paint but less effective on heavy grime. Most express chains sell an unlimited monthly plan, usually priced at two to three single washes, that is only worth it if you wash more than twice a month. Gas stations often bundle a discounted wash with a fill-up.

An excellent place. Has a tall self-wash bay that easily accommodated my Ford Transit High Roof. Everything worked perfect in the self-wash bay.

Splash & Dash in Mills River, North Carolina, is an excellent local spot to keep your vehicle looking its best. The facility is exceptionally well-kept, modern, and features up-to-date equipment that always functions flawlessly. As someone who exclusively utilizes the self-service options, I truly appreciate the convenience of their modern pay terminals. Having the choice to pay with either cash or a card is a massive benefit, especially since many other car washes in the area still strictly require quarters. It is a reliable, clean, and user-friendly establishment that I highly recommend.

Everything was CLEAN. In seemingly working condition, EXCEPT the spray foam, not the brush, wasn't working. I don't know if a brush was missing or if it just was out of cleaner stuff but besides that the signs were very informative if you're not sure what's what on the options controller knob. I had no problem with the cost and it even incentivized spending$10 with the added $2 or 2 minutes I'm not sure but I liked it:)

Automatic wash is terrible. Wash pressure is extremely low, so it doesn't clean well. I still had lawn clippings from my neighbors lawn stuck to the side of my car after the $14 wash..... My garden hose would have been more effective for washing. It seems to also only really concentrate on one side of the vehicle during the rinse. The wash arm never goes to the driver's side, it only rinses the passenger side. This wash may be more effective if the wash pressure were increased. The dryer isn't very effective, either. It doesn't give you enough time to go through slow enough to actually blow the water off of your car. The manual wash bays aren't any better. Commonly out of soap, low water pressure, knob for mode selection is always loose and difficult to properly select the mode you want. This car wash is just overall ill maintained and the owners don't seem to care about how much time and money you waste trying to use their facility. If you actually want to clean your vehicle in a stress free environment..... GO ELSEWHERE! We have tried to give them opportunities to better their business for years, but nothing has changed.

Iβm giving this a middle of the road review for now until I confirm whether Iβm missing something. The actual wash facility itself is great and the quality of the wash that it provides is solid considering it is an automatic wash. Everything is maintained and new, the audio cues are working, all the lights work, itβs not trashed like every other automatic wash within 20 miles. Hereβs my one petty concern. Automatic car washes are generally bad for your paint so I donβt ever go for the full package, I always go for the basic package so that as a little product is applied as possible, and there is no drying function, Iβm basically just rinsing off the road, grime and allowing my paint protectant to continue to do its job underneath. The cheapest option there is the eight dollar express wash. However, the last two times I have gone, I have selected the express wash, clearly stated to be eight dollars, and then immediately have seen a charge come through for $10 on my credit card. Look, two bucks is not a big deal, but there is either a mistake here or an actual effort to defraud people. Two bucks across hundreds of transactions a week adds up. Iβm really hoping I misunderstanding s
